Controlling my PS3 vwith my N900. Laziness prevails…
This is why you probably will never see flash on the iPhone (or iPad for that matter) and it’s a shame. Click here for more demos of mobile devices running Adobe Flash 10.1
Adobe is spearheading an initiative called The Open Screen Project who’s goal is to:
“Enable consumers to engage with rich Internet experiences seamlessly across any device, anywhere.”
There are a lot of big names involved, and Apple isn’t one of them. I love Apple and many of their products but lately the only innovation they seem to embrace is contained within their own eco system which is limited and comes at a premium.
It’s no secret. Apple can say what they want, but they are afraid of competition for the app store, iTunes, etc… A full featured browser on a mobile device is the ultimate, killer app! We all know it. There is still a place for app store apps and the like however. I have always said the twitter experience on the iPhone with Tweetie 2 is the best twitter experience on ANY platform and is sorely missed on my N900. Many would agree and say the same about various apps from the app store.
If Apple supported Flash on their mobile devices app store developers would have to step their game up and you would get apps of a greater caliber. I say, Apple, you go ahead and innovate, but not at the expense of innovation…
I’ve been playing with this browser and it’s great. Though still prefer to use the N900’s default browser for everyday use. Looking forward to improvements in the future.
